Jim understands what it is like to coach and care for someone with a neurodevelopmental condition. His son, Patrick, now 23, was diagnosed with a eurodevelopmental disorder at age 9. When his son was diagnosed, there were very limited services available, so he researched and coached him to enhance and reinforce his skills, interests (areas of focus) and abilities. In addition, he coached him in areas that were challenging for him, such as social skills, inattentiveness, impulsivity, planning, organizing, and strategies for him to regulate his emotions. He’s very proud that Patrick graduated college with a bachelor’s degree and a 3.9 grade point average. In addition, his son has written and published a fantasy fiction book and produced and composed three piano albums.
