According to the substance abuse and mental health services administration, that number has more than doubled between 2005 and 2010. A diagnostic test developed in Massachusetts is aimed at stopping ADHD drug abuse before it starts. It’s easy to take, and – more importantly – it’s harder to fool. Teens Faking ADHD Just To Get The Drugs?

A 2009 study in the American Journal of Pediatrics found that abuse of prescription stimulants by teenagers and young adults rose 76% since 1998. A growing number of young people are faking symptoms to get the ADHD medication.
Some physicians are turning to the Quotient ADHD system to weed out drug-seekers pretending to have the disorder.
